A new generation of employees wants something more from business leaders than simply increased stock holdings so when the turn comes they will be able to attain great wealth. They want to be able to make an impact right now – outside the corporate walls – keeping the business engaged in the local community.
Research is demonstrating that leaders who drive values that include meeting societal needs attract employees and investors. Small business that keep engaged in helping each other on their street, in the community, in their city will attract customers.
A core belief of the servant-leader is stewardship – not ownership – the underlying question is: How can I best use the assets available to me to positively impact employees, vendors, the marketplace and society?
And when your treasure must all be focused on business survival, impact your world by making available your time and your talent. Set the example by leading in giving what you can.
Are you leading – generously?
Proverbs 11:24-25 (MSG) The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.
