Noticed lately that your revenues are down and that along with that your customer count is also down.  You might want to pay ateention to these 7 things that you may be doing that your patrons do not like.

Dirty Bar

1.  Some of your bar staff leave glasses/dishes and beer bottles/cans on the counter while taking long, intimate conversations with their friends at the bar. They also eat at the bar and while doing so, customers have to wait to be served. We always were taught that they were there to provide good service to the customers.

2.  Your bar staff saves bar stools and space at the bar for friends who are not even regulars at your bar.

3. When some regulars, especially the “old farts” tip poorly, the bartenders openly show their displeasure.  Some have been known to make and heard making snide comments.  We always thougt that tipping had to do with customer satisfaction.

4.  Your servers sometimes go outside to pet and be friendly with neighbourhood dogs tied outside your establishment.  They should at least be sanitary enough to wash their hands before serving customers when they finally decide to return to serve the patiently waiting customers.

5.  Customers who play the poker/lottery machines are allowed to keep their seats at the bar.  This also happens for customers who take their drinks outside to have a long, leisurely smoke.

6.  Some of your bar staff leave glasses/dishes and beer bottles/cans on the counter while taking long, intimate conversations with their friends at the bar.  They also eat at the bar and while doing so, customers have to wait to be served.  We always were taught that they were there to provide good service to the customers.

7.  Your bar staff become patrons when they are off work and are allowed to become intoxicated at the bar. They are also served alcohol by your bartenders when they should be cut off. This has a very negative impact on the way customers view and relate to them.

These are 7 of the many reasons you may have noticed that your customers are dwindling.  Thankfully, they are still around but are across teh street at your competitor’s, waiting to get word that you are taking steps to rectify this sad state that your neighborhood watering hole has fallen into.
